Support us
Volunteer with us
There are many ways in which you can volunteer your time to help support our charity.
As a volunteer, you’ll be working alongside our staff team to help deliver services, at events and assist with activities.
Benefits of volunteering
There are many reasons why people want to volunteer with us, these can include:
- Meeting new people
- Practising your British Sign Language skills
- Gaining experience and enhancing your CV
- Making a real difference
Rewarding roles
Volunteering can not only benefit our clients but can be very rewarding for you too. We truly value the time that our volunteers give and the skills and experience they bring.
Volunteering Opportunities
Hearing aid maintenance and battery distribution drop-ins
These are held at various locations throughout the borough. This opportunity is ideal if you have a couple of hours to spare every month and you enjoy chatting to people. Full training provided.
Social events and activities
We sometimes hold coffee mornings and other social events throughout the year. We are always grateful for any help with organising and delivering these activities and it’s also a great way to meet new people.
Information stands
We get asked to attend information events on a regular basis which allows us to inform local people about the services and support we provide. If you would like to help us at these events, please get in touch. Full training will be provided.
Community fundraising
Whether it is a bake sale, a coffee morning, or maybe a community raffle we can provide you with fundraising material to help raise funds for us. We can also send one of our staff members to your event to thank you in person and to teach your group some sign language!
Challenges
Are you a runner? Or do you fancy throwing yourself out of a plane for a skydive? Last year our CEO and Chair did the Three Peaks Challenge to raise money for Bexley Deaf Centre and we are always looking for keen and brave people to be sponsored and raise funds for us.
