Our Services

Our services have been designed alongside the Deaf and Hard Of Hearing communities in Bexley. These services are monitored and are constantly adapting to ensure they meet the outcomes, needs and expectations of these communities. Our aim is to promote accessibility, thereby creating a more inclusive society.

Welcome to the Bexley Deaf Centre

Serving the local deaf community in Bexley and the surrounding areas, our services are accessed on average, over 11,000 times every year. More than 50% of our staff, trustees and volunteers are Deaf or Hard of Hearing. We are now one of the busiest centres in South East London for teaching British Sign Language.

Sign taster session

Not quite ready for a full BSL course? we offer a 2-hour one off sign taster session. This is where students will learn basic sign language, a little bit of deaf history and culture.

01. Where are you based?

We are based at 5 Brampton Road, Bexleyheath, London, DA7 4EZ

02. Do you teach British Sign Language?

Yes we teach British Sign Language Levels 1,2, and 3. We also offer a 2 hour sign taster session as well as a 5 week introduction to BSL course.

03. Can you help me with my hearing aid?

At Bexley Deaf Centre, we work alongside Queen Mary’s Hospital, Lewisham Hospital, Queen Elizabeth Hospital and Guys & St Thomas’ Hospital who provide us with batteries and tubing. This allows us to provide maintenance support for your hearing aid on their behalf. If you were prescribed a hearing aid from any of these locations, Bexley Deaf Centre is here to help you maintain your hearing aid, re-tube it and provide you with batteries.

04. We're an organisation do you help with training?

Yes, if you’re looking to support your Deaf or Hard of Hearing workforce, looking to employ a deaf or hard of hearing person or just want to provide valuable CPD for your workforce, then please get in touch.

05. Do you help Deaf people with employment support?

Yes, our Employment Support service offers 1-2-1 support to help you secure the right job for you. Please visit our job support page.
